Abstract
Weprovideanovelstrategytoeliminatetheepoxygroupfrom
thebasalplaneofgrapheneplatelets.Giventhatthecurrent
reductionmethodsareunsatisfactorytocleantheepoxidesor
sometimescauseundesirablestructuredeformations,the
proposedstrategyrestorestheoriginalhexagonalcarbon
networkwithoutcreatingothernewdefects.Tothebestofour
knowledge,theelectricfieldmediatedgrapheneoxide(GO)reductionhasnotyetbeensystematicallyinvestigated.The
capabilitywouldpermittheimprovementofexistingGO
reductionmethodsandassistinthefabricationofhigh-quality
graphiticmaterials.
