luminosityof8:7fb1.Usingasampleofttcandidateeventsdecayingintotheleptonþjetschannel,we
obtaindistributionsofthetop-quarkmassesandtheinvariantmassoftwojetsfromtheWbosondecays
fromdata.Wethencomparethesedistributionstotemplatesderivedfromsignalandbackgroundsamples
toextractthetop-quarkmassandtheenergyscaleofthecalorimeterjetswithinsitucalibration.The
likelihoodfitofthetemplatesfromsignalandbackgroundeventstothedatayieldsthesinglemost-precise
measurementofthetop-quarkmass,Mtop
¼172:850:71ðstatÞ0:85ðsystÞGeV=c2.
