obtaindistributionsofthetop-quarkmassesandtheinvariantmassoftwojetsfromtheWbosondecays
fromdata.Wethencomparethesedistributionstotemplatesderivedfromsignalandbackgroundsamples
toextractthetop-quarkmassandtheenergyscaleofthecalorimeterjetswithinsitucalibration.The
likelihoodfitofthetemplatesfromsignalandbackgroundeventstothedatayieldsthesinglemost-precise
measurementofthetop-quarkmass,Mtop
