The network architecture of typical data center can be characterized by the tiered networks and the aggregation-based traffic control. The emersion of big data makes these data centers difficult in invigorating big data service. The tier and the aggregation based traffic management can magnify the seriousness of the traffic congestion and extend the congested region when big data moves around in the data center. So, big data has been forcing data centers to change its architecture dramatically. In this paper, we first addressed the important paradigm shifts on network architecture caused by big data traffic. And then, showed the new network architecture for big data resulted from our experience of CERN LHC data service. Finally, we illustrated the effect of the throughput improvements of the proposed network architecture using NS2 simulation when big data services
