Search for a low mass Standard Model Higgs boson in the \tau-\tau decay channel in p\bar{p} collisions at \sqrt{s} = 1.96 TeV.

Abstract

WereportonasearchforthestandardmodelHiggsbosondecayingintopairsofleptonsinppcollisions producedbytheTevatronat ffiffiffis p ¼1:96TeV.TheanalyzeddatasamplewasrecordedbytheCDFIIdetector andcorrespondstoanintegratedluminosityof6:0fb1.Thesearchisperformedinthefinalstatewith onedecayingleptonicallyandthesecondoneidentifiedthroughitssemihadronicdecay.Sinceno significantexcessisobserved,a95%credibilitylevelupperlimitontheproductioncrosssectiontimes branchingratiotothefinalstateissetforhypotheticalHiggsbosonmassesbetween100and150GeV=c2. ForaHiggsbosonof120GeV=c2theobserved(expected)limitis14.6(15.3)thepredictedvalue.
