Abstract
we observed that the “figure-of-eight” motion was helpful to generate thrust during the upstroke, and the inclined stroke motion was beneficial to generate lift during the downstroke. From the study of a wing’s sectional shape, we observed that camber improved lift generation, but deteriorated aerodynamic performance. When the geometric effect of the nerve is considered, however, not only thrust but also the aerodynamic performance is enhanced.
