II. 연구개발의 목적 및 중요성 o 본 연구는 대학, 연구소 등이 보유하고 있는 고가 연구장비의 DB구축 을 통해 고가 연구장비의 효율적 취득/관리, 공동활용 활성화 및 장비 관련예산의 효율적 사용 도모하는데 있음. o 미래의 지식기반 사회에 대응할 만한 성장기반을 확충하기 위해서는 연구장비의 확충에 노력해야 하나, 연구장비의 대부분이 수입된 고가 연구장비로서 이러한 수입장비의 양적인 확충에 대한 투자효율의 문제가 제기되고 있어, 기존장비를 대외개방하여 공동활용함으로써 연구개발 투자에 대한 효율을 높이고, 연구장비의 중복구매를 방지할 수 있음. o 그리고 산/학/연 각 기관이 보유하고 있는 연구장비는 과학기술 및 산업기술기반의 중추라고 할 수 있으나, 선진국에 비해 열등한 연구개발 자원을 보유하고 있는 우리 나라에 있어서 국내의 한정된 연구개발 잠재력의 효율성을 제고하기 위해서는 연구장비 및 시설에 대한 공동활용이 촉진되어야 함.

III. 연구개발의 내용 및 범위 1. 연구장비 DB 구축 : 1,000건 - 대학, 연구소 등 고가 연구장비 보유기관 대상 2. 연구장비 DB 검색서비스 : 자체 + 연계 - 기초과학(원) 연구장비정보망을 통한 자체 서비스 - KISTI 과학기술기자재 DB와 연계 서비스

The ultimate goal of the study is to support researchers for the development of science and technology. This database will serve end- users such as institutes, universities, industries and personal researchers via Korea Equipment On- Line.
