Wepredictaquantumphasetransitionfromnormaltotopologicalinsulatorsinthe5dtransitionmetaloxideNa2IrO3,wherethetransitioncanbedrivenbythechangeofthelong-rangehoppingandtrigonalcrystalfieldterms.Fromthefirst-principles-derivedtight-bindingHamiltonian,wedeterminethephaseboundarythroughtheparityanalysis.Inaddition,ourfirst-principlescalculationsforNa2IrO3modelstructuresshowthattheinterlayerdistancecanbeanimportantparameterfortheexistenceofathreedimensional
strongtopologicalinsulatorphase.Na2IrO3issuggestedtobeacandidatematerialwhichcanhavebothanontrivialtopologyofbandsandstrongelectroncorrelations.
