dc.description.abstract
Flow around two oscillating cylinders in a side-by-side arrangement at Reynolds number(Re) ¨? 185 is simulated using the immersed boundary method. The purpose of this study is to investigate the combined effects of the gap between the two cylinders and their oscillation in the flow. The cylinders oscillate transversely to a uniform cross-flow with a prescribed sinusoidal function in the opposite direction, with the oscillation amplitude equal to 20% of the cylinder diameter.
