dc.description.abstract
A dissipative particle dynamics simulation (DPD) has been performed to investigate the effects of the concentration of a polymer and the channel width on the behavior of polymer in a highly confined channel. The probability distribution of DPD solvent particles and of DPD chains and the properties of DPD chain particles are calculated for several concentrations of polymer and channel widths. From the density fluctuation of DPD solvent particles and the probability distribution of DPD solvent particles and of DPD chains, the effects of the concentration of the DPD chains and the confinement on the behavior of the polymer in highly confined channel are observed. The change in the probability distribution of the DPD chains as a function of time suggests the migration of the DPD chains without flow in a highly confined channel.
