대용량데이터센터 구축 및 운영

Abstract

○ 세계적 수준의 실험데이터 저장 인프라 구축 ･ CERN WLCG 최상위데이터센터 세계 11위 수준 달성 ･ 실험데이터 확보용 저장 인프라 구축 (Disk: 3PB, Tape: 1.5PB) ･ 안정적인 데이터 전송을 위한 10Gbps 데이터전용망을 KISTI 연구망으로 전환 ･ 가동률 99.3% 이상의 안정적인 데이터센터 운영 ○ 실험데이터 공유분석 환경 구축 및 서비스 ･ ALICE, CMS 등 6대 분야 데이터 공유분석 환경 확장 구축 및 서비스 ･ 국내 첨단연구장비-데이터센터 연계 데이터공유분석환경 시범서비스 구축 ･ 사용자 작업처리: 573만건 이상 수행 ･ 세계 최초의 과학적 성과 창출 기여(중력파, 중성미자 질량차이 측정) ･ SCI 논문유발 75편 ○ 대용량실험데이터 활용 커뮤니티 지원 및 활성화 (슈퍼컴퓨팅 전주기 컨설팅 지원) ･ (전주기 컨설팅 2건) 중력파, 유전체분야 전주기 연구 컨설팅 수행 ･ 사용자협의회 개최 및 사용자매뉴얼 발간 ○ 대용량데이터센터 인프라 관리기술 개발 연구 ･ 데이터센터 인프라 운영 및 관리 자동화 기술 ･ 인프라 자산관리 프로그램 개발 ･ 데이터센터 인프라 관리 최적화를 위한 자동화 프로세스 ･ 미국 FermiLab과의 국제협력연구을 통해 OpenStack Framework 설계 및 구축, Federated Identity Management Service 연구 수행 ※ 본 사업의 활성화를 위한 미래창조과학부 수탁사업 연계 추진 - "기초연구실험데이터글로벌허브구축“ (2016.3.01~ 2017.2.28)

Ⅳ. Result of the study The basic principle of this project is oriented to establish the infrastructure, we put focus more on the construction of the infrastructure. The result of the activities of launching associated project as a new project derived from this project for the successful promotion of this project is summarized as the result of the research and development. The achievements are summarized as following:

○ Expansion of Infrastructure and Stabilization of Services .Expansion of storage infrastructure for large-scale experiment data in Peta-scale .Preparation of foundation for acquisition of raw data and service provision in world-leading level .Upgrade of GSDC local network to full 10Gbps .High level service availability and usage - Service availability : 99.39% - Processed jobs : 5,390,000 jobs ○ Construction of Research Communities and Service Activation .Technical support and user training - The number of technical support and user training activities : 166 .Promotion of research communities - The number of papers indexed in SCI promoted by GSDC : 75 - The number of user association meeting held by GSDC : 2 .Achievement of high graded user satisfaction index - Scored 88 out of 100 from the survey performed against users .Associating the project entrusted by MSIP for the success of this project - "Global hub for Experiment Data of Basic Science“ (2016.03.01 ~ 2017.02.28.)
