○ 차세대 성장동력의 발굴에 대한 국가적 관심이 높아짐과 동시에 기술 융합 패러다임이 산업의 다양한 분야에서 확산됨에 따라 미래의 융합기술과 그 기술의 향후 발전 트렌드를 예측하는 등의 시도가 중요하게 여겨지고 있음
○ 하지만 기존 연구들은 현재 시점에서 융합기술의 구조와 특성 또는 그 영향력을 예측하는 데에 그치고 있다는 점에서 미래 시점에서의 융합기술을 도출하고 탐색할 수 있는 체계적인 접근 방법이 필요함
○ 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 전문가 집단 지성 기반의 위키피디아 데이터베이스를 구축하고, 관계 예측 기법을 활용하여 미래 시점에서의 융합기술을 도출하는 체계적인 접근법을 개발함
○ 인공신경망 기법을 활용하여 미래기술 영향력의 강도와 범위를 조기에 예측할 수 있는 방법론을 개발함
○ 다중 특허지수를 기반으로 하여 은닉 마르코프 모형을 통해 대상 기술이 수명주기 상에서 특정 단계에 속할 확률을 예측하는 확률론적 기술수명주기분석법을 제시함

Ⅲ. Contents and Results of the Project
○ The research on the exploration of a future converging technology
- The research on the exploration of a future converging technology develops the system that can systematically manage the abundant amount of technology information based on its individual characteristics and purposes by developing an algorithm which converts, extracts, classifies, and stores the data, and by developing a crawler that can automatically collect the data from Wikipedia.
- In addition, the research develops an atypical analytic tool based on quantitative indices and SAO to support the decision-making of experts related to the method of drawing a technological ecology map and technological structure & characteristics by using Wikipedia data based on SNA(Social Network Analysis).
- Moreover, the research develops a method that can explore the converging technology from the futuristic point of view using link prediction approach.
○ The research on the assessment of the impact of a future technology
- The research on the assessment of the impact of a future technology defines various proxy indicators that can assess the technological impact, and develops a method that can predict the strength and range of the impact of the future technology using ANN(Aritificial Neural Network).
○ The research on the prediction of a technology's life cycle
- The research on the prediction of a technology's life cycle 1) models the life cycle which is different for each technology, 2) predicts the current location of the technology in its life cycle, and 3) develops a method that can forecast the future trend by defining multiple proxy indicators that can assess the technology's life cycle as a stochastic variable, and analyzing the change of proxy indicators using HMM(Hidden Markov Model).
