PCI Express 스위칭 기반의 고성능 네트워크 기술 연구

Abstract

ㅇ 본 연구에서는 시스템 내부의 디바이스를 연결하는데 사용되던 PCI Express 버스를 시스템간 연결에 사용하기 위한 방법으로 PCIe 스위칭 기법의 활용 가능성을 확인하였음. ㅇ PEX 8749 RDK를 기반으로 여러 가지 시스템 간 통신 환경을 구축하고 성능 평가를 수행하였슴 ㅇ PCIe 스위칭을 사용하는 SDP를 분석하여 개선안을 도출 하였으면 광모듈을 장착한 PEX 8749 기반의 어댑터 카드를 설계 개발하였음.

In this study, we built a PCI Express switching test-bed with PLX 8749 RDKs in order to check the feasibility of using it as interconnection network of HPC systems. We checked the host to host communication performance and the results showed that the PCIe switching are able to be used for interconnection network. We also designed and made a PCIe adaptor card that are equipped with a new optical module, mini-pod. We expect that it will be possible to build rack-scale interconnect network with PCIe switching technique instead of using current network methods such as Infiniband
