본 연구과제의 목적은 연구과제에서 생산된 과학기술 빅데이터의 국가적 공유·활용 체제를 구축하여 과학데이터를 활용한 4세대 R&D를 선도함으로써 과학기술 강국으로의 도약을 위한 기반을 마련하는 것임. 이를 위해, 본 연구과제는 당해 연도에 다음과 같이 수행되었음.
○ Data Intensive Science 연구 환경 구축을 위한 핵심 기술 개발
- 대용량 위성데이터 분석 등 빅데이터 처리를 위한 기반 기술 개발
- 과학기술 빅데이터 활용을 위한 분산・병렬 처리 기술 개발
○ 과학기술 빅데이터 처리 및 공유 플랫폼 개발
- 과학기술 빅데이터 플랫폼 모니터링 및 평가 모델 개발
- 과학기술 빅데이터 공유 플랫폼 개발(P-CUBE)
○ 과학기술 빅데이터 거버넌스 체제 구축
- 국가 과학기술 거버넌스 체제 구축을 위한 종합계획(안) 마련

Ⅳ. Results of the study
○ Development of core technologies for data-intensive science
- Development of Hadoop extension technologies for scientific big data applications
- Development of DB-centric remote sensing big data analysis platform based upon multi-dimensional array DBMS
- Building an environment of processing remote sensing big data using SGE
○ Development of platform for scientific big data processing and utilization (P-CUBE)
- Enhancing the scientific data repository system to efficiently manage sectoral scientific data
- Enhancing the integrated repository system for national scientific data sharing and utilization
○ Construction of governance system for national scientific big data
- Proposing the pan-governmental management policy for collecting, preserving, managing and sharing scientific big data
- Proposing the systematic and phased way to reform current legal system to expedite collecting, preserving, managing, publishing, sharing and utilizing national scientific big data
- Defining the management scope of national scientific big data for interministerial sharing
- Proposing the interministerial standardizing for information linking
- Proposing the open platform to support national scientific big data management systems, data, services ant it guarantees interoperability among them.
