1. 제목 한의학분야 전문정보 DB구축에 관한 연구

2. 연구개발의 목적 및 중요성 한의학의 이론은 음양론, 오행론, 정신기혈론, 기미론, 경락론 등 여러 가지가 있으며, 한의학은 인간의 질병을 예방하고, 치료하는 의료기술이다. 한의학의 존립성, 정체성 확보에 여러 방법과 정책이 있지만, 이 분야에 대한 연구개발 또한 가장 기본적이고 중대한 정책이다. 현재 세계는 자연주의에 대한 동경, 천연물에 대한 관심, 중국의 전통의학에 대한 발전 정책, 미국의 비정통의학에 대한 연구개발등은 한국의 한의학이 연구 개발할 필요성과 환경을 조성하고 있다. 한의학 연구개발에 대한 기존 인프라가 약한 우리나라에서 한의학 연구가 개인적인 관심과 지적 욕구 충족, 한 계층의 정체성 및 기득권 확보, 끊임없이 연구비와 인력을 투자하여도 뚜렷한 결과가 나오지 않는 원인을 분석하기 위해서는 현재까지 한의학에 대한 연구현황 자료 분석과 외국의 전통의학 연구개발 정보의 탐색을 통해 한의학 연구개발을 촉진시켜야 할 것이다.

3. 연구개발의 내용 및 범위 한의학은 우리 고유의 전통의학으로써 많은 정보가 산재하여 방치되어 있었으나 관련 연구기관, 대학 등 교육기관에서 이들 자료들을 정리하여 연구하고 데이터베이스화하여 최근 동향의 신 한의학에 접목하려는 시도가 이루어 지고 있다. 이런 과정에서 연구기관간의 중복연구를 피하고 연구 실태 파악을 위해서도 한의학 분야 전문정보 DB구축에 관한 연구는 매우 바람직하다고 생각되는 것이다. 또한 해외 각국의 전통의학에 대한 정보자료도 함께 수집, 정리할 수 있어 매우 바람직한 일이다. 정보통신의 급속한 발전과 정보화 시대의 도래에 따라 한의학 관련정보를 디지털화 하여 정보자료의 활용을 극대화하여 한의학 연구를 활성화하고 과학화하는 한편, 인터넷 등 초고속 정보통신망을 통해서 체계화된 한의학 연구 정보를 제공함으로써 한의학의 세계화와 종주국으로서의 국가 경쟁력을 제고하여야 할 것이다. 이들 데이터베이스화된 정보는 지능형 정보 검색기를 기반으로 고도의 기능과 사용자가 필요로 하는 한의학 정보를 신속, 정확하게 서비스하며, 국내외 초고속 정보 통신망과 연계하여 한의학 정보로서의 역할을 하도록 구현한다. 정보가 무한한 가치를 갖는 정보사회에서는 정보의 가공과 유통체계가 국가 발전과 직결하고 있으므로, 우리만이 갖고 있는 전통 한의학 정보는 경쟁력 있는 고유 정보 상품으로 세계화와 정보화가 시급한 분야이다. 국가 초고속 정보통신망과 인터넷 등으로 멀티미디어 기반의 한의학 정보를 제공하는 정보망을 구축하여, 한의학의 종주국으로서의 면모를 과시하고 한의학의 과학화와 현대화에 기여하는 한편, 정보화 사회의 새로운 서비스 창출에 기여할 것이다.

Objective of the study and its importance The aims of the research are to construct a web directory for Oriental Medicine so that the web directory as a portal site of Oriental Medicine supports the efficient information retrievals and nation-wide services through Internet. Web directory based on multimedia document database and the intelligent information retrieval integrates the related documents and information to offer the synthetic solutions for the diverse user queries.

3. Content and scope of the study The number of scientific information systems is growing rapidly, there is little chance of finding a system that provides technical article information on the oriental medicine. This shortage of the specific information system has been recognized as a main obstruction to scientific progress of oriental medicine which the vast source of retrieving scientific information accessible to computers. The Oriental Medicine as our own traditional medicine has accumulated the voluminous literatures from time immemorial. These extensive literatures that may be recognized as the new alternative solutions to resolve many important issues in modern medicine have not been managed systematically up to this time, and so the development of Oriental Medicine is confronted with the problems of the efficient literature applications in research and education.

5. Application schemes This study will contribute to spread the excellency of our own medical science and to develop the scientific theories for Oriental Medicine.
